Polycephaly Birds
BY Joseph Cavalieri | February 7, 2010
My multi-headed birds.
Combining my initial idea of an object under glass with “The Horse Seeking Revenge on the Stag” fable I developed this sketch (above). As you can see I have notes to myself around the edge. With all of my work I incorporate perspective, historic architecture (Byzantine buildings will be used here), and my signature two - and three-headed birds.
What! You don’t know about my polycephaly (multi-headed) birds? My prediction is by the year 2080 cloning and DNA engineering will be commonplace and these genetically modified birds will have out bred the now-rare single-headed variety. It will be very common to see these birds flying about across the world. I have been incorporating 2- and 3-headed birds within my painted stained glass as well as making sculptures of glass and taxidermy birds.
