Yak Textiles
BY Marcella Echavarria | February 7, 2010
I am a big fan of indigenous cultures.
Especially if they face a context of conflict, and in spite of many challenges, struggle to preserve their ancient culture. This is why I am obsessed with Norlha, a project from the Tibetan Plateau that advocates for the continuation of nomadic life through the creation of yak textiles that have the imprint of the sacred land, the strength and warmth of an animal that endures the extreme and the hope for a better promissing future for the new generations of Tibetans. We sell their products in the US through Surevolution.
