Peasant pottery for all of us

Sometimes what happens behind the scenes turns out to be the big miracle.  Donna Hadjipopov encountered Bulgarian pottery because of love and marriage. Her husband's aunt made traditional Bulgarian wares and Donna fell in love with them.
But the story is more complicated. She has had to address clay recipes and preparation, firing techniques, glaze composition, shipping issues. And more.
But she stuck with it and the result is a beautiful line of dinnerware in rich chocolate -- but also in yellows and blues and a subtle shell-pink.
Our table at home is very minimal, but somehow we are tempted by Bulgarian pottery today.
